Historička ÚPN Beáta Katrebová Blehová zostavila publikáciu, ktorá sa venuje transformácii náboženskej politiky v štátoch sovietskeho bloku v rokoch 1956 až 1968. Zborník prináša desať štúdií medzinárodného autorského kolektívu a približuje vývoj vzťahu medzi štátnou mocou a náboženskými spoločenstvami na príkladoch z Nemeckej demokratickej republiky, Poľska, Slovenska, Maďarska, Rumunska a Juhoslávie.

Publikácia sa zameriava najmä na prechod komunistických režimov od otvorených represií k systematickému dozoru tajných polícií, diplomatické aktivity Svätej stolice v rámci východnej politiky Vatikánu, ako aj na témy blahorečenia „mučeníkov komunizmu", reintegrácie politických väzňov a vplyvu Druhého vatikánskeho koncilu.

Beáta Katrebová Blehová, historian from the Nation's Memory Institute edited this volume, which examines the transformation of religious policy within the states of the Soviet bloc between 1956 and 1968. The collection presents ten studies by an international team of scholars and explores the evolving relationship between state power and religious communities through case studies from the German Democratic Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, and Yugoslavia.

The publication focuses particularly on the transition of communist regimes from open repression to systematic surveillance by secret police forces, the diplomatic activities of the Holy See within the framework of the Vatican's Ostpolitik, as well as issues related to the beatification of the "martyrs of communism," the reintegration of political prisoners, and the influence of the Second Vatican Council.
