Anti-Communist Resistance in Central and Eastern Europe

International Scientific Conference

Nation’s Memory Institute (Slovakia) and European Network Remembrance and Solidarity in cooperation with foreign partners Institute of National Remembrance (Poland), Institute for the History of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution (Hungary) and Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (Czech Republic) and Slovak partners National Council of the Slovak Republic, Confederation of Political Prisoners of Slovakia and Political Prisoners – Association of Anti-Communist Resistance have the honour to invite you to an international scientific conference under the auspices of the Speaker of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Mr. Pavol Hrušovský Anti-Communist Resistance in Central and Eastern Europe.

The goal of the conference is to analyze wide range of activities against the totalitarian regime including open rebellions, activities of dissidents and political emigration. The presence of researchers from several countries will give a comparative view on the common features as well as the particularities of development of the anti-communist resistance in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. More than 40 researchers from 14 countries will present the latest results of historical (scientific) research in the area of anti-communist activities. The conference will be held with financial support of the International Visegrad Fund (www.visegradfund.org).
