Peter Jašek: A Consistent Normalisator. The Career of Jána Pješčak in Services of the Communist Party of Czecho-slovakia

The article provides information on the career of prof. JUDr. Ján Pješčak in services of the Communist regime in the years 1948–1989. Pješčak was devoted to Communist ideas since he was a student in the 1940s, when he participated with the resistance. After the end of the WW2 he helped Communists to wield the power and he took an active part in the February coup in 1948. He proved his loyality towards the Communist Party also in the position of the military prosecutor in the 1950s, this was the beginning of his sucessful career. After the invasion of the country by the Warsaw Pact troops he rapidly became one of leading normalisators. In the 1970s and 1980s his public career culminated, in the position of the Deputy Federal Minister of Interior Affairs, the first Rector of the Natural Security Corps Academy or the General Prosecutor of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.
