JAŠEK, Peter. Bratislava/Aloud and its place in the resistance against the normalization regime in Slovakia
This text aims to present the publication of one of the most important anti-regime documents of the second half of the 1980s, the publication Bratislava/Aloud published in 1987. This is not a very reflected topic in the Slovak historical literature – most of the texts published so far are mainly based on the recollections of the eyewitness participants in the historical events or are directly written by them. It makes sense as not all relevant documents are available for research. The materials from the provenance of the Slovak Union of Nature and Landscape Protectors, the Communist Party, and other official institutions, and last but not least, materials from the State Security Service should be taken into account. Documents from foreign radio stations or the exile press, which reported on the publication's release, are also offered for research. The present study places the publication in the context of the period of time of not only the protection movement itself but also of the resistance against the regime in the second half of the 1980s. It is based not only on the testimonies of the eyewitness participants in the historical events but also on archival material from the provenance of the former State Security.
