HALLA, Josef. Nationalized artist. Post-war years of Dušan Jurkovič and his family

The text deals with the fate of Dušan Jurkovič and his family after the end of World War II, when the family actively participated in the anti-fascist resistance. At the end of his life, the eminent architect received social recognition – three large general exhibitions of his work were held in Prague, Brno and Bratislava. At the same time, the family's brickyard in Trnava was nationalised, and after 1948, Jurkovič's sons were investigated by State Security and evicted from Bratislava during Action B. Until the mid-1960s, Dušan Jurkovič's name did not appear in the media and was not reflected even in professional circles.
