Florin Abraham: The Romanian Revolution of 1989: historical context, unfolding, aftermath

In three decades since the fall of Communism in Romania, a huge amount of information has accumulated, which is often difficult to be evaluated even by historians. There are monographs, document collections or memoirs. However, synthesis studies are needed to provide the essential information about a historical event accompanied even now by numerous controversies and disputes. The purpose of this study is to offer an overview on main events of the Romanian Revolution, using the most recent bibliography and the latest interpretations. The author used the ideographic method, to give readers a general perspective on the historical event that falls into the category of "turning points"
