Eduard Laincz: Jewish Community in Stará Ľubovňa District from 1938 to 1945

This contribution aims to present knowledge about Jewish population in Stará Ľubovňa district from 1938 to 1945, based on archive research. It was the most dynamic period negatively influenced by the so-called Final Solution of the Jewish Question in that district. It consists of two parts: the first, basic chronological historical survey on the development of Jewish community life in the district of Stará Ľubovňa from 1938 to 1945 and the second part with the list of Jews from this district of 1942, who should have been transported to the General Gubernate. It is a document not published till now, providing basic information on Jewish citizens in the north of Spiš region. By publishing this document, we would like to establish a basis, that could be used also by other researchers dealing with this topic.
